Starting April 6th thru April 21st (2018) you can see my newest painting over at Gallery1988 in Hollywood, CA.
The show's title, and theme, was to pay tribute to movies from the year 1988. Fortunately for me, one of my favorite movies came out that year. Although it may not be as popular as "They Live" or "Killer Klowns from Outer Space", "Elvira, Mistress of the Dark" has a deep hold on my heart.
As you can see in the teaser image above, I chose to not only pay tribute to the movie in my usual fashion (putting little movie props all over the background) but I also wanted to pay tribute to the fans who love Elvira. Specifically I tried to capture the feelings and emotions that I personally had when I met Cassandra Peterson (in costume) a few years back. It was so exciting, but also a little intimidating and it just made me want to do the happy dance afterwards.
Anyway, if you're in Los Angeles, consider stopping by and checking the show out before it closes on the 21st!
